Miller Named Principal at CIMS

Clearwater USD 264 is pleased to welcome Jennifer Miller as principal for Clearwater Intermediate-Middle School. Miller comes to Clearwater after 24 years in the Wichita school district where she was most recently an assistant principal.

Growing up in Southwest Kansas, Miller is looking forward to being a part of a smaller, close-knit city. She said, “I find it truly heartwarming to watch kids grow both academically and socially as they progress through school.”

Miller brings a wide variety of experience in all aspects of teaching and administration. She has been a substitute teacher, classroom teacher, Special Education teacher, instructional coach, district level trainer, national presenter, and assistant principal. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Teaching and Master of Science in Curriculum from Newman University.

She is excited to bring her passion to Clearwater. “I believe when staff and the community all work together, Clearwater children will have no limits on what they can achieve in life,” she said.

Miller and her husband have 12 children and five grandchildren. Some are local to the Wichita area but others live in the Kansas City area, Oklahoma, North Carolina and California. She considers herself a foodie and loves steak, good BBQ  and a cookout with family and friends. She’s a big Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoys “glamping” with her family in Missouri.

What can the CIMS expect from her leadership? Miller said, “I have two main goals at school. 1. That our school is a safe and trusted place. 2. Our students work hard to reach their fullest academic potential. I want to make sure that our students are fully prepared for high school, and in return will be ready to take on life’s challenges when they leave CIMS. As a result of that, as decisions are made or changes implemented it will always be focused on doing what is best for our students first. We will celebrate successes, big or small.”

“I look forward to this new work family in Clearwater and I can’t wait to celebrate our staff and students next year and in the future at CIMS.”

Welcome to Clearwater. We are glad to have you!
