CHS Earns Gold Standard for Financial Literacy

Congratulations to Mr. Clevenger, business teacher at CHS, for his consumer and personal finance course earning the Gold Standard from Next Gen Personal Finance. This is a Junior/Senior level course that is required for graduation. 
 

“When students get through they won’t know everything about personal finance, but they will have the resources to find out what they need to know,” said Mr. Clevenger.  “What’s cool about the NGPF curriculum is that it offers a lot of interactive activities. It’s project-based which is great for student learning. They stay relevant with frequent updates.”
 

This morning students were learning about personal banking, specifically what an overdraft looks like. The cards on the table represent money transactions. Students calculated where spending needed to stop to avoid an overdraft.
