Clearwater Community Reading Challenge

Clearwater Community: USD 264, Clearwater City Library, and the Clearwater Recreation Commission are joining forces to have a reading challenge this summer. We want to challenge our incoming Kindergarten through 12th grade students to read as many books as possible this summer.
Here is how it works:
1. Check out a book form CHS, CIMS, CEW, or the City Library
2. Read the book!
3. Check the book back in and verbally answer the five questions at the bottom of the reading log.
4. Librarian signs the sheet
5. Once you have read 10 books, turn it into the USD 264 District Office (151 S First)
**If student is not reading on their own yet, if an adult reads to them and the student can answer the questions that will be signed off on as well**
Why should we do this?
1. After each sheet is completed, students will get 3 gift certificates to Brain Freeze and choice of prizes in the office.
2. At the end of the summer, there will be a drawing for 2 Grand Prize $100 gift cards and 2 Runner-Up prize $50 gift cards.
3. Also, every sheet turned in will result in a 5% discount on enrollment fees in August.
When does this take place?
1. June 1st starts the challenge and all reading sheets must be turned in by July 31st.
2. USD 264 Libraries will be open on Mondays from 8 AM to Noon
3. City Library will be open Tuesday-Friday normal business hours.
